Tangsibi Lhakhang

Description

The temple is a huge stone house three storeys high just below the highway.

History

The Treasure discoverer Sherab Mebar, who was born Kham, Eastern Tibet, (1255-1315 or 1375-1435), visited Bhutan from Singye Dzong in the East to western Bhutan where he died in Paro. In Ura Tangsibi he is to have settled at Tashiling.

The temple was restored in the 1980s by Dasho Karma Gelek

The temple, a private property, is looked after by a lay practitioner

The festival of Tangsibi Mani takes place from the 14 to the 18th day of the first Bhutanese month.
